The ultimate UX research training
WHY THIS COURSE?
I saw a huge lack of resources in the UX research field so I created the ONLY course I WISH I HAD when I first started. This is a 360-degree approach to EVERYTHING you need to know about being a UX researcher.
I will cover not only how to conduct UX research, but everything from
- advanced knowledge in human factors psychology,
- what it means to be a leader; leadership and management,
- how to use AI to supplement your process, and
- winning UX business strategies
to the more nuanced things, like
- what to do when your team forgets about research or does not include you,
- how to deal with imposter syndrome or the opposite Dunning-Kruger effect,
- and even what if “you look too young to be taken seriously?”
You can be sure this isn’t going to be an easy course. This training will be rigorous. I will NOT have my students come out with fluff and basic surface-level knowledge. I promise you this, it will be rewarding!
This is not a 4-hour B.S. workshop nor 10-day UXR retreat that costs thousands of dollars. And it’s not a multi-thousand-dollar UX bootcamp that teaches you how to wireframe. It’s 24 weeks, almost half a year (longer than university semesters).
This UX Research master class will go far beyond the basics of simply teaching you the basics of writing a study plan, conducting research, and presenting results. This class will prepare you practically so you can be confident, no matter where you land.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will the course start and finish?
- Live: The next cohort begins January, 2025 for 24 weeks. We meet twice a week for 2 hours each (4.5 hours per week) so you can focus on having a life while you learn. Every student will get weekly 1:1 calls with Kevin Liang to discuss questions and career tips.
Can’t I find this stuff for free?
- Almost. But I also share the ins and outs of how companies like Google, Uber, and Volkswagen conduct UX user research (I’ve worked at them before)! Get a deeper look at what makes the researchers at these Fortune 500 companies the best in the business and learn the basics AND advanced knowledge.
- There’s also a LOT of fads and trendy articles that pollute the ACTUAL knowledge you need to know to be a UX researcher. In this Master Class I will cut out the B.S and teach you HOW to think, give practical examples and quizzes to make sure you can understand the fundamentals, and show you step-by-step how to do rigorous user research.
- I am also actively working as a Senior UX Researcher, and I sometimes share real relevant stories with the class on lessons learned. Nothing confidential, of course!
Will I learn how to design or code in this class?
- NO! It is not necessary to do either as a UX researcher. There are tons of great classes on how to design and code, but this one is all about how to be a UX Researcher. The right way.
Is a bachelor’s degree required?
- Not for this master class. But understand that in order to land a UX Research job, yes, you WILL need at least a bachelor’s degree to land any UX research job (except if you’re one of my cohort alum, who landed a UX job without a BS degree after taking my class!).
Are yearly updates included for free?
Absolutely. As a researcher, I take feedback and iterate on it. You’ll get unlimited lifetime access if you are in the live cohort!
what time-zone will the live class take place?
It would be Pacific Standard Time (California). There may be more GMT-friendly sessions coming in the future.
There may also be weekend options. Sign up to stay tuned for updates for the master class!
